Did Live Nation just signal to the music industry that it’s time to go back to work?

As vaccinations continue to rollout worldwide, there’s hope yet that standing in a crowded room listening to your favorite band this year just might be possible.

Live Nation’s CEO, Michael Rapino, sparked that hope: based on conversations with some U.S governors, he’s stated that, “a clear outline to 75% to 100% capacity outdoor events in 2021 would likely be green-lit.”

And people are ready for it: hundreds of thousands of tickets have already been sold for festivals later in the summer (with one even selling out within 48 hours!).

In other words, we may all be saying “thank you, next” to event restrictions and to COVID-19.

“Live Nation is one of the globe’s largest event promoters, and because Live Nation holds control of a majority of the venues across the nation, it wouldn’t make sense to book a nationwide tour without their venue openings. The best news? This announcement comes just in time for summer festival announcements.”
