Dollar Tree and Daniel White have built a long standing relationship over the last 10 years, and this year was no different when it was time for Dollar Tree’s annual General Session meeting. As the sound, video, and lighting provider, Hit Play not only provided the equipment necessary for the meeting, but was also there for pre-meeting design, planning, and onsite implementation.
Large corporate events can be a high stress environment for the executives who are putting them on, so our team values staying calm, collected, and kind, and even having fun to help relax the atmosphere a bit. It’s important to us that the client can rely on us to do our job so they can do theirs- and it’s great to step back at the end and see what we accomplished together as well as the challenges we overcame.
With their growth over the years came facility challenges for their meetings and getting the right equipment together to accommodate them, but the biggest challenge came in 2015, when Dollar Tree acquired Family Dollar. There was a lot of tradition within both companies and when it came time to bring them together for their yearly conference, not only were there cultural challenges, but infrastructural and logistical ones as well. This year, 2022, was the first year both companies’ meetings were held back to back in Norfolk, and there is hope to have some overlap for a company wide meeting in the future.
The final day of their 2022 conference, and the largest scale event we’ve partnered with them on, was a Town Hall meeting on location with nearly 1000 people there in person as well as thousands across the globe virtually.
As Dollar Tree expands each year, Daniel reflects on his pre-production days with them:
“My only job outside of production work was for 6 months my senior year of high school opening up a local Dollar Tree. I understand their values, where they come from and how they work and it’s been great to work by their side as they grow and change.”
It’s safe to say that this is a client that Daniel and the team at Hit Play look forward to working with for years to come.
“When they call, I pick up the phone. When they email, I reply promptly. And then we go grab a beer after a hard day’s work together.”
